Accounting Manager
Leads the general accounting function to complete the work associated with all ledger accounts, financial statements, and other financial reports deemed necessary by management. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: · Prepare, examine, or analyze accounting records, financial statements, or other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards. · Analyze business operations, trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations, to project future revenues and expenses or to provide recommendations. Report to management regarding the finances of establishment. · Establish tables of accounts and assign entries to proper accounts. · Develop, maintain, and analyze budgets, preparing periodic reports that compare budgeted costs to actual costs. · Develop, implement, modify, and document recordkeeping and accounting systems, making use of current computer technology. · Prepare forms and manuals for accounting and bookkeeping personnel, and direct their work activities. · Survey operations to ascertain accounting needs and to recommend, develop, or maintain solutions to business and financial problems. · Advise management about issues such as resource utilization, tax strategies, and the assumptions underlying budget forecasts.· Makes appropriate improvements to internal accounting processes insuring that practices are aligned with company goals and policies. Minimum Qualifications and Requirements: Education and experience: · Bachelor’s degree in accounting. Prefer MBA & or CPA Florida certificate or equivalent experience.· Ideally, 5 to 7 years of service in an accounting role with multiple direct reports. Technical Knowledge: · Has a working knowledge of GAAP, accounting processes,andprocedures, internal controls and financial analysis.· Able to develop clear and concise financial and business insights, presentations, and narrations that are regularly offered to company managers· Familiar with Microsoft Excel and commonly used accounting software packages. Interpersonal Skills: · Demonstrated ability to mobilize and align the organization around its short and long term plans· Promotes and demonstrates behaviors consistent with the Corporation's values.· Ability to interpret, shape,mobilize and inspire people to achieve results beyond their expectations and demonstrated ability to manage, lead, coach and develop employees.· Strong written and oral communication skills.· Experience in building, leading, working in and evaluating overall effectiveness of a team environment.· Ability to work effectively with all levels of people from diverse cultures and public entities.· Ability to work with peers in an entrepreneurial and corporate environment.
