Accountant/Finance Consultant
Procon Consulting LLC is currently seeking an Accountant/Finance Consultant (minimum 8 to 10 years of experience) to provide financial and audit support services to a government client. This position will be located in Washington, DC.
Responsibilities:
•Review fixed asset transactions and balances; review and develop capitalization documentation and support proper asset valuations. Perform reconciliations of accounting transactions in the General Ledger (GL) and subsidiary ledgers. Work in financial systems to reconcile transactions in Purchasing, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Inventory, and Fixed Assets to include construction in process (CIP) and depreciation accounts. Reconcile budgetary accounts to propriety balance for accuracy. Analyze and review processes that drive the revenue and expense processes, to ensure completeness of the budgetary accounting in financial systems.
•Develop and revise guidance for new and evolving business processes, including standard operating procedures (SOP), desktop manuals, and draft policy. Provide training and support for implementation of new business processes.
•Resolve previously reported negative audit findings and assist in preparing, monitoring and executing corrective actions based on federal financial management regulations.
•Provide financial and accounting analysis in such areas as overhead calculations, fund and program element reconciliations, accounting line usage, accounting line conversions and object class usage
•Assist with OMB Circular A-123 internal control assertion documentation. Develop, test, and document internal controls for business processes both within, and external to, the client’s financial systems. Provide advice, recommendations and technical assistance in improving processes and internal controls and minimizing financial risks.
Position Qualifications:
•Experience working on Government programs/projects
•8+ years of financial management experience related to financial reporting and accounting
•Bachelor’s degree required
•Possess or must be eligible for National Security Clearance at the Secret level
•Highly motivated with great organizational, team, and customer service skills.
•Utilizes word processing (MS Word), spreadsheet (MS Excel), and database software (MS Access).
•Capable of writing clear and comprehensive reports
•Possess excellent communication and organizational skills
